Canadian University of Bangladesh’s (CUB), Department of Law inaugurates its ‘CUB Law and Moot Club’ on Sunday at the auditorium of the University. Professor Dr Md Rahmat Ullah, dean, Faculty of Law, University of Dhaka graced the program as the chief guest and inaugurated the Moot Club.
Professor Dr Nazrul Islam, advisor to Board of Trustees of CUB chaired the inaugural ceremony. Professor Willam H Derrenger, dean, School of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences and Professor Dr Mohammad Nazmuzzaman Bhuian, advisor of Department of Law of CUB were the special guests in the occasion.
After the inaugural session, a daylong workshop on ‘Mooting’ was arranged by the Department of Law of the university. The workshop was conducted by some prominent legal minds of the country such as, Christabel Randolph, director, Legal and Corporate Affairs, Marico Bangladesh; Manzur Al Matin, advocate, Supreme Court of Bangladesh, and ASM Sayem Ali Pathan, advocate, Supreme Court of Bangladesh.
In the closing session of the workshop, Vice Chancellor (VC) of CUB, Professor Dr Mohammad Mahfuzul Islam, and Sheikh Mozaffar Hossain were present. The VC concluded the workshop by giving his vote of thanks.
