Newly appointed Vice Chancellor (VC) of Chattogram University (CU) Professor Dr Shirin Akhter expressing firm determination said that her administration will try to upgrade standard of education at the university apart from resolving accommodation crisis of teachers and students, reports BSS.
The first female VC of the public university said this while talking to journalists on Monday on the campus. Expressing gratitude to the President, Prime Minister and Education Ministry for entrusting her with the responsibility of the university, she said, “Accommodation crisis at the university is a severe problem…this problem will be solved in phases.”
She also said an emergency meeting of academic and hall administrations will be held in a shortest possible time to find out solution regarding accommodation crisis. Dr Shirin also sought cooperation from all concerned to resolve the problems. Shirin Akter, a professor of the Bangla department, was appointed as Vice-Chancellor of Chittagong University on Sunday.
