The Chittagong University (CU) authorities have decided to provide 15 GB internet data to all students and teachers per month free of cost to smoothly run the online classes and increase the students’ attendance. Teachers and students can avail the service through a SIM operated by Robi, CU Registrar Professor SM Monirul Hasan said on Saturday. Hasan said the closure of the campus during the coronavirus pandemic reduced costs in many ancillary sectors, including shuttle trains.
“So, we have decided to spend the fund on the welfare of teachers and students,” he added.
The Registrar said they have taken initiative to provide 15 GB mobile internet per month to ensure online classes of CU students from the different parts of the country.
“We have an agreement with Robi authorities to provide this service,” he added.
