The 32nd Annual Senate Session of Chittagong University (CU) will be held today (Sunday). Vice Chancellor of the University Prof Dr Shirin Akhter will preside over it. The meeting will be held in the Vice Chancellor’s conference room of university, said Registrar (Acting) Professor SM Monirul Hasan.
This year's Senate session will present the university's budget of Tk 351.85 crore for the 2020-21 financial year and discuss the overall activities and work plan of the university running throughout the year. CU budget for the last 2019-20 financial year was Tk 339.18 crore.
Senators will be able to be virtually involved if they are not able to attend the Senate session in person in the Corona situation.
In this regard, the Registrar (Acting) Professor SM Monirul Hasan said, the annual senate session of the university will be held in accordance with the hygiene rules. Those who are unable to attend due to the Corona situation will participate online.
Although the Senate session is held in June every year, it has been held a little later this year due to the Corona situation, he said.
