Chattogram WASA is going to increase water price by 5 percent. According to the new rates, residential customers will have to pay Tk 13.2 paisa per unit (1 thousand liters) of water and non-residential customers will have to pay Tk 31.82 paisa.
The decision was taken at the 64th board meeting of Chattogram WASA on Thursday. This will be effective from January 1, 2022. Chattogram WASA MD Engineer AKM Faizullah said Chattogram WASA has the power to increase the price of water by 5 percent per unit as per Section 22 (2) of the Water Supply and Sewerage Authority Act-1966.
