Nur-e-Alam alias Nuru, a top terrorist listed in Akbarshah police station and accused in 24 cases, was arrested along with his accomplice Kauser.
He was arrested Friday night at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka after he came in from Qatar. He left the country on bail after six years in prison.
There are 24 cases against him for plotting to cut down government hills, selling, kidnapping, extortion, assault on police, drug and drug trafficking, gambling and looting of fish in the lake. When the police went to the lake to catch him, his cronies attacked the police on December 26. Police raided again and arrested 11 more accused with his younger brother's wife on 31 December.
City Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Faruq-ul-Haq said, a joint team of police and detectives arrested Nuru in 24 terror cases. The record of his crime is very long. We will remand him and ask permission for interrogation. Legal action will be taken against him.
