Chattogram Railway police have recovered the stolen goods of a passenger which she lost while she was getting on the train at Chattogram railway station and returned them to the rightful owner. Meanwhile, a young man named Sahabuddin Rony (35) was arrested on charges of stealing goods.
Police arrested him from the New market area last Friday night. The arrested Sahabuddin Rony is the son of Siddique Ullah of East Lakshi Narayanpur area of Noakhali Sadar Police Station.
Chattogram District Railway Superintendent of Police Mohammad Hasan Chowdhury said the vanity bag of a woman named Jannatul Ferdous was stolen while boarding the train on September 1.
Among them were mobiles, Tk 5.5 lakh in cash and jewelry. Later, a young man named Sahabuddin Rony was arrested from New Market area on the basis of the woman's allegations. The stolen goods were recovered from him at that time.
