Chattogram Press Club and Chattogram Union of Journalists (CUJ) have started collecting samples for corona test of journalists at the press club on Tuesday. Chattogram Divisional Health Director Dr. Hasan Shahriar Kabir inaugurated the function.
“The whole world is infected with the terrible corona virus. Journalist of the country including Chattogram are working as front fighters in this epidemic. Some journalists in Chattogram have already been attacked by the virus,” said the health director.
He called on the journalist to follow the rules set by the World Health Organization with strict vigilance at the time.
President of Chattogram Press Club Alhaj Ali Abbas presided over the function while General Secretary Chowdhury Farid delivered the welcome speech at the programme. President of Chittagong Journalists Union Mohammad Ali also spoke there.
At this time, the senior co-president of the Press Club Salahuddin Reza, CUJ Senior Vice President Ratan Kanti Debashish, General Secretary Mohammad Shamsul Islam and other journalists were present.
Samples were collected by Md. Shamsul Alam, Senior Medical Technologist and Md. Fakhruddin Sumon, Technologist of BITID, Chattogram.
