Ctg port maritime crime quota zero in recap report

For the first time in the report of 2019, the Pirates Prevention Organization on ships operating in South and East Asia declared the coastal area of Bangladesh, which is completely safe with the port of Chittagong.  The report was released on January 15.  The report was briefed an exchange meeting between team and port users, including five members of the Recap Deputy Director Nicholas Leo at the Chittagong Port Authority meeting room on Jan 20.

 At this meeting, Mr. Nicholas warmly congratulated the Chittagong Port Authority Member (Harbor and Marine) Commodore Shafiul Bari (NDC) PSC, BN for adopting a special strategy to free piracy in the coastal areas of Bangladesh.  During the meeting, he thanked the Bangladesh Coast Guard and Bangladesh Navy for their continued efforts to combat piracy in the sub-continent.  He praised the port for modernizing the overall security of the port.

 The visiting team chief Mr. Nicolas said that  although theft of piracy and piracy occurred 2019 in China 3, India 4, Indonesia 20, Malaysia 8, Philippines 6 and Vietnam 2 among the member states, Bangladesh is in zero quota.  He added that the achievements of naval security Bangladesh in 2019 are at the level of Japan and Singapore, which must be kept intact at any cost.  Bangladesh Shipping Agent Association Director Mamunur Rashid said, "Chittagong port has achieved enormous success in the security system by implementing ISPS code in 2004 which is a matter of pride for us."
