Citibank has given a ‘High Flow Nasal Canola’ to give high dose oxygen therapy to the patients undergoing treatment at Chittagong General Hospital. Earlier, S Alam Group gave two high flow nasal canola to the government hospital.

The doctors at the General Hospital think that it will be easier to save the critically ill patients as three high level oxygen therapy machines have been added to the medical equipment. However, they said more high-flow nasal canola was needed to cope with the ongoing crisis.

City Bank Chairman Aziz Al Qaiser handed over high flow nasal canola to Chittagong General Hospital Senior Consultant Dr Abdur Rab on Tuesday afternoon.

Abdur Rob said, ‘The pressure of Covid-19 patients is increasing in our hospital. Most of the patients who come suffer from shortness of breath. They have to be supplied with oxygen.

Getting high flow nasal canola has been very helpful to us. With one canola many patients can be served as needed. It will be possible to reduce the death rate due to shortness of breath.

The price of a high flow nasal canola ranges from a minimum of Tk 6 lakh to a maximum of Tk15 lakh. The 250-bed government hospital had never had a high-flow nasal canola before. Doctor Abdur Rob has requested the rich to cooperate with more high flow nasal canola to save Covid-19 patients.

CMP Commissioner Md. Mahabubar Rahman has helped General Hospital to get a high flow nasal canola from Citibank.

CMP Additional Deputy Commissioner (Media) Abu Bakkar Siddique said, "Many patients are dying of shortness of breath due to lack of oxygen. The issue is coming up in the media.

Considering the matter, CMP Commissioner himself requested Citibank to provide a high flow nasal canola at the General Hospital. Citibank has given this machine in response to his request.”
