A remarkable and sophisticated medical procedure has been conducted successfully at the Evercare Hospital of Chattogram. Hospital authorities on Sunday during a briefing published their success of treating the patient.

Zainab Begum (69) was admitted to Evercare Hospital Chattogram after suffering a brain stroke.  A CT scan of the brain showed that the patient had an ischemic stroke on the right side of the brain and that his brain was under extreme pressure.  Even at that time the patient's level of knowledge (GCS score) was 5/15.

The experienced physicians of the hospital decided to treat the patient first with decompressive cranioctomy on an emergency basis and then with cranioplasty based on follow-up.  About 3.5 hours after the surgery, the patient's cardiac condition was at risk of not being favorable.  Evercare Hospital Chattogram Neurosurgery Department Senior Consultant and Coordinator has successfully performed cranioplasty on the 69-year-old patient who suffered a brain stroke through Awake Surgery.  Dr. Md. Anisul Islam Khan and his team spoke about this success at a recent press conference.

Dr. Fazle Akbar, General Manager, Medical Services Department, Evercare Hospital, Chattogram, said, “Evercare Hospital has the capability to perform many risky surgeries due to its advanced surgical ICU and reliable anesthesia department.”

Other senior officials of Evercare Hospital Chattogram were present on the occasion.
