District Civil Surgeon Dr. Jahangir Alam said that the registration of hospitals, labs, diagnostic centers and clinics cannot be updated without an environmental clearance certificate. Many people have complained about not getting the environmental clearance certificate on time even after applying for it before the registration of the institution is updated. It would be better if the institution is sincere in providing environmental clearance after receiving the necessary documents along with the application without any harassment. He said, due to the increase in patients, Chattogram Medical College (CMCH) Hospital and 250-bed General Hospital are struggling to provide medical services. Considering the suffering of general patients, the government has started medical services in the outpatient department of Chittagong Railway Hospital in CRB from May 14. From now on, patients will be able to come here for emergency services from general cardiac problems. He has sought the cooperation of the concerned institutions/departments in completing the renovation work of dilapidated sub-health centers in various upazilas including Boalkhali and Chandanaishah at the earliest.
