Father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s mural is being built at Chattogram Shah Amanat International Airport intersection.
Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) mayor and freedom fighter Md. Rezaul Karim Chowdhury on Tuesday visited the construction work at the area and other places including South Central Halishahar, South Halishahar, and South Patenga Ward.
Currently, there is a mural of the traditional Sampan of Bengal at the under-construction area of this important intersection of the city. Bangabandhu's mural will be built there for the beautification of the city.
Meanwhile, the mayor ordered to repair adjacent roads by opening tenders within 15 days as the road in front of Dailpara Primary School in South Patenga Ward was submerged due to water level.
Mayor directed the CCC cleaning department and councilors to start work for quick cleaning of the clogged canals and drains of South Central Halishahar and South Halishahar wards to reduce waterlogging in the coming monsoon.
CCC Councillor Saleh Ahmed Chaudhuri, Golam Mohammad Chowdhury, Chief Engineer Rafiqul Islam, Additional Chief Engineer Monirul Huda, Supervising Engineer Biplab Dash, Executive Engineer Ashiqul Islam were present there among others.
