Crowd of patients increases in Tarash

With the onset of winter, the incidence of diarrhoea and pneumonia in children in Sirajganj has increased dramatically. In the last 19 days, more than 300 children, including the elderly, have been treated for diarrhea and about 55 children have been treated for pneumonia at the 50-bed hospital in Tarash Upazila. Of them, 119 had diarrhea and about 30 had pneumonia.

The hospital authorities said that most of the patients who are currently undergoing treatment in the inpatient and outpatient departments of the hospital are children suffering from diarrhoea and pneumonia.

However, Tarash Upazila 50-bed hospital resident Dr Rumman said there was no reason to panic. This is because the government hospital has adequate facilities for the treatment of patients suffering from diarrhoea and pneumonia.

It is learned that in the last few days, the severity of winter has increased in in the region inhabited by Chalan Beel. This has increased the suffering of children and the elderly. According to the hospital sources, 119 patients were admitted to the hospital with inter-departmental diarrhoea in 19 days from January 1 to January 19 with the onset of severe winter.
