On the first day of the Asia Cup camp on Monday, the cricketers have undergone a physical examination at the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB)'s medical department.
Out of the 32 cricketers of the camp, 20 have come to the field today. Some of the cricketers who are in the camp of Tigers in Chattogram are scheduled to come to Dhaka on Monday. The rest are busy with franchise cricket.
Shahriar Nafees, assistant manager of BCB's cricket management department, told reporters about this matter on Monday.
“All the cricketers under our contract and those who have recently participated in various tournaments of our national team, have been asked to come. Today there will be mainly medical tests - blood and eye tests and ECG. Medical test is being done today. Tomorrow and the day after tomorrow, team physio screening, such as how the bones and muscles are doing, will be done,” said former Bangladesh opener.
After the two-day medical examination, the cricketers are scheduled to undergo a fitness test on August 3.
Then the Asia Cup skill camp will start from August 8. Before that, the team of 32 members will be reduced to 21-22.
The team will be announced in the first week of August. The skill camp will start with them. Members of the national team's coaching staff will return to Dhaka before that.
"Currently physios, BCB doctors and national team physios are taking responsibility. When the fitness test happens, the fitness trainer will take charge. When the bowling workload happens, the bowling coach will take over. The batting coach will take responsibility when the batting part arrives. Everyone has shared responsibility, will perform accordingly. It is actually a regular process,” he added.
