Cricketer Mosharraf Hossain Rubel, who had been battling cancer, passed away on Tuesday. He died at 5 pm on Tuesday.
Mosharraf Rubel, who played five ODIs for the country, was diagnosed with a brain tumor in March 2019. The tumor was then surgically removed in Singapore and he became quite healthy after that.
Rubel was suddenly rushed to United Hospital in the capital on Tuesday after his condition deteriorated. Doctors at United Hospital declared him dead.
In 2019, Rubel was diagnosed with brain cancer. The tumor was then surgically removed in Singapore. He had 24 chemotherapy treatments. After that he became quite healthy. A few days ago, a new tumour was found in his brain. One side of his body became numb. He was admitted to hospital last month. However, about a month later, on April 15, Rubel returned home from the hospital.
On Tuesday he fell ill again. He was taken to hospital. However, doctors on duty there declared Rubel dead. Rubel represented Bangladesh in five ODIs in between 2008 to 2016.
