Bangladesh registered seven more deaths in 24 hours from Covid-19 till 8am Tuesday. The total number of deaths has reached to 29,058 with the latest figure.
A total of 446 people were newly infected during the time and the total number of people infected rose to 1,948,148, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Tuesday.
The current positivity rate dropped to 2.23 percent and the overall positivity rate stands at 14.36 percent.
Earlier on Monday, four people died from the virus and 436 people contracted the virus.
In addition, the death rate now stands at 1.49 percent in the country, added the release.
Of the seven deceased, five were male and two were female. Six were from Dhaka and one from Sylhet.
A total of 19,964 samples were tested across the country till 8am Tuesday.
Some 3,062 Covid-19 patients have recovered during this period. A total of 1,849,946 people have recovered from the virus so far and the recovery rate stands at 94.96 percent.
As of Tuesday, 6,029,263 people died of Covid-19 across the world and 44,837,172 have been infected so far, according to Worldometer.
