Bangladesh registered five more deaths in 24 hours from Covid-19 till 8am Thursday. The total number of deaths has reached to 29,058 with the latest figure.
A total of 657 people were newly infected during the time and the total number of people infected rose to 1,945,765, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Thursday.
The current positivity dropped to 2.91 percent and the overall positivity rate stands at 14.44 percent.
Earlier on Wednesday, eight people died from the virus and 792 people contracted the virus.
In addition, the death rate now stands at 1.49 percent in the country, added the release.
All the deaths during the time were reported in Dhaka.
A total of 22,584 samples were tested across the country till 8am Thursday.
Some 4,628 Covid-19 patients have recovered during this period. A total of 1,831,577 people have recovered from the virus so far and the recovery rate stands at 94.13 percent.
As of Thursday, 5,995,139 people died of Covid-19 across the world and 440,928,482 have been infected so far, according to Worldometer.
