Bangladesh registered 11 more deaths in 24 hours from Covid-19 till 8am Friday. The total number of deaths has reached to 29,016 with the latest figure.
A total of 1406 people were newly infected during the time and the total number of people infected rose to 1,941,057, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Friday.
The current positivity dropped to 5.48 percent and the overall positivity rate stands at 14.55 percent.
Earlier on Thursday, 10 people died from the virus and 1,515 people contracted the virus on that day.
In addition, the death rate now stands at 1.49 percent in the country, added the release.
Of today's deaths, four were reported in Chattogram, two each in Barishal and Sylhet, and one each was reported in Dhaka, Rajshahi and Khulna divisions.
A total of 25,667 samples were tested across the country till 8am Friday.
Some 6,937 Covid-19 patients have recovered during this period. A total of 1,793,082 people have recovered from the virus so far and the recovery rate stands at 92.38 percent.
As of Friday, 5,950,034 people died of Covid-19 across the world and 432,381,761 have been infected so far, according to Worldometer.
