Bangladesh recorded 1,970 new infections till 8am Monday, increasing the positivity rate. The total number of people infected has reached 812,960 with the new cases.
The current positivity rate stands at 11.47 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 13.40 percent, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Monday.
The country registered 30 more deaths from Covid-19 till Monday morning, taking the death toll to 12,869, added the release.
The death rate now stands at 1.58 percent in the country.
The number of fatalities has declined slightly while the number of newly infected people has increased significantly compared to a day earlier. The country recorded 38 deaths and 1,676 new cases on Sunday.
Among the 30 deceased, 19 were men, and 11 were women. Of the victims, 27 died in different hospitals across the country while three died at home.
Eleven of the deceased were from the Chattogram division, seven from Dhaka, four from Sylhet, three from Khulna, two each from Rajshahi and Mymensingh, and one from Rangpur division.
A total of 17,169 samples were tested across the country till 8am Monday.
At least 1,918 Covid-19 patients have recovered during the period. The total number of recoveries now stands at 753,240 and the recovery rate at 92.65 percent.
As of Monday, 3,744,514 people died of Covid-19 across the world and 174,065,117 have been infected so far, according to Worldometer.
