The coronavirus infection is under control in the country at the moment, said Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque.

He came up with the assertion at Tejgaon College in the capital on Friday after inspecting the nursing examination center.

The minister also said, “Around 12 million people have been vaccinated in just one day during the special vaccination campaign on February 26. Bangladesh has reached the eighth position among 200 countries in ensuring vaccination for its citizens. All these achievements were possible due to the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. We have worked under her guidelines.”

“Our objective is to ensure booster dose for those who are eligible. There is no shortage of vaccines in the country. The government has spent Tk 40,000 crore for ensuring vaccines for all,” he said.

Zahid Maleque urged everyone to adhere to hygiene rules and maintain social distance.
