Bangladesh registered 61 more deaths from Covid-19 till 8am Saturday, taking the total number of deaths to 26,493.
The country recorded 1,743 new infections in the meantime taking the total number of people infected to 1,512,026, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Saturday.
The death rate now stands at 1.75 percent in the country, added the release.
The current positivity rate fell to 9.82 percent and the overall positivity rate stands at 16.73 percent.
Among the 61 deceased, 30 were men and 31 were women. Among the deaths reported, 32 died in Dhaka division, 13 in Chattogram, six in Khulna, four in Rajshahi, two each in Barishal and Rangpur, and one each died in Sylhet and Mymensingh divisions.
A total of 17,750 samples were tested across the country till 8am Saturday.
At least 3,421 Covid-19 patients recovered during this time. The total number of recoveries reached to 1,446,003 and the recovery rate is 95.63 percent.
As of Saturday, 4,570,163 people died of Covid-19 across the world and 220,770,036 have been infected so far, according to Worldometer.
