The government has extended the ongoing restrictions for another 10 days as Covid-19 infection is not still under control.
The Cabinet Division on Sunday issued a notification extending the period of restrictions from midnight of June 6 to June 16 midnight.
The notification said that considering the current situation of coronavirus infection, the time limit for imposing all previous restrictions has been extended from midnight of June 6 to midnight of June 16.
The time limit of the restrictions imposed earlier expired yesterday.
The second wave of the corona infection in the country began in late March increasing the risk of infection and death tolls. From the beginning of March, public movement of transports and office activities were kept open and lockdown was imposed. Later, on April 14, a 6-day long strict lockdown was imposed. Later, the period was extended for six times.
Meanwhile, all types of public transport including inter-district buses, launches and trains were allowed to run in compliance with the hygiene rules. At the same time, hotels and restaurants are allowed to serve half the number of seats.
At present, all the government, private and autonomous offices, courts and educational institutions are closed. However, special service providers are open to a limited extent by the executive order of the government.
Officials from the Cabinet Division and the Ministry of Public Administration said the government wanted to decide whether to extend or lift the ban after a thorough analysis.
