Bangladesh registered nine more deaths in 24 hours from Covid-19 till 8am Sunday. The total number of deaths has reached to 27,823 with the latest figure.
The country recorded 275 new infections in the meantime against a total of 18,485 samples tested. Therefore, the positivity rate stands 1.49 percent for the latest data.
The total number of infected people has reached to 1,567,692, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Sunday.
As per the release, the overall positivity rate stands at 15.34 percent and the death rate now stands at 1.77 percent in the country.
Among the nine deceased, six were women, and three were men. Of the deceased, six were from Dhaka, two from Chattogram and one from Sylhet.
Some 386 Covid-19 patients have recovered during this period. A total of 1,531,327 people have recovered from the virus so far and the recovery rate stands at 97.68 percent.
As of Sunday 4,961,726 people died of Covid-19 across the world and 244,226,978 have been infected so far, according to Worldometer.
