Covid-19 treatment begins at CMP-Vidyananda Field Hospital

CMP-Vidyananda Field Hospital has started journey in Patenga under the management of Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) and Vidyananda Foundation.

CMP Commissioner Md Mahabubur Rahman inaugurated the hospital on Wednesday morning. Vice Chairman of Vidyananda Foundation Faruk Ahmed was the special guest on the occasion.

The hospital built with the funding of the people of the country will provide free treatment to corona patients as well as patients with other symptoms. It will collect 10 corona samples every day. A team of 12 skilled doctors, 16 nurses and 50 volunteers will be in charge of treating the patients.

Skilled doctors from home and abroad will be connected through telemedicine services. Each bed will have a central oxygen supply system. There will be two ambulances ready for all time for the patients.  The hospital started with 50 beds and it will be converted into 100 beds in a short time.

CMP-Vidyananda Foundation is hopeful that the hospital will make a significant contribution to the medical care for the people of the city for the  control of corona.

Additional Commissioner of Police (Administration & Finance) Amena Begum, Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) SM Mostaq Ahmed Khan, Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime & Operations) Shyamal Kumar Nath and other senior police officials, hospital doctors, nurses and Vidyananda Foundation officials were present at the inaugural function.
