After a long wait, finally a Covid-19 sample testing lab was inaugurated at the Chest Disease Clinic Hospital in Thakurgaon on Tuesday.
Dr Shuvendu Kumar, Consultant at Chest Disease Clinic Hospital, said that besides testing tuberculosis samples through the Gene Expert machine, 3 to 4 corona samples can be tested daily in the lab.
Awami League presidium member and MP from Thakurgaon-1 constituency Ramesh Chandra Sen inaugurated the lab as the chief guest.
At the time, Deputy Commissioner Dr KM Kamruzzaman Selim, Civil Surgeon Dr Mahfuzar Rahman Sarkar, Supervisor of Thakurgaon Modernl Sadar Hospital Dr. Nadirul Aziz Chapal and others were present.
Untill now, corona samples of Thakurgaon residents were collected and sent to Dinajpur M Rahim Medical College Hospital for testing which took about 7 to 10 days to provide the result. Whereas, report of the sample sent to newly set lab will be available soon.
