Covid-19 teaches me 2 things: Prof Shwapnil

Liver specialist Dr Mamum Al Mahtab Shwapnil and eye specialist Dr Nuzhat Choudhury have recovered from Covid-19 along with their son Surjo.  In a facebook post, Dr Shwapnil on Saturday said they were tested negative. 

“We are grateful to people across Bangladesh and beyond and across religion who have prayed for us,” they said. Prayers were offered at the Dargah of Hazrat Syed Nizamuddin Awlia (R:), New Delhi to mosque in Mymensingh by Bangladesh Chhatra League, Mymensingh Medical College Unit, from the temples in Sodour, West Bengal the ones in Bogura and from Dharmarajik Buddhist Monastery in Dhaka to Budh Gaya in Bihar, India.  “I had two great learnings from COVID-19,” he said. 

“Bangladesh is a country of beautiful people with deep rooted secularism and as a physician my responsibility towards this country has magnified,” he said, while thanking all.  Apart from professional bodies, both of them are actively engaged with the Forum for Secular Bangladesh & Trial of War Criminal of 1971 as its executives.  

Prof Shwapnil is also the general secretary of Sampritee Bangladesh that promotes the idea of secularism in the country.  Both of them work at the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University.
