The Covid-19 situation continues improving consistently amid diagnosis of the minimum number of new patients during the last more than one and a half months in Rangpur division.
Health officials said no fresh Covid-19 case was diagnosed positive after testing 22 new samples in the division on Monday. "The total number of Covid-19 cases remains steady at 64,127 in the division," Divisional Director (Health) Dr. Abu Md. Zakirul Islam said.
The district-wise break up of total 64,127 patients include 14,960 of Rangpur, 4,418 Panchagarh, 5,475 of Nilphamari, 3,281 of Lalmonirhat, 4,982 of Kurigram, 8,583 of Thakurgaon, 16,920 of Dinajpur and 5,508 of Gaibandha in the division.
Meanwhile, the total number of healed patients remained steady at 62,762 as no more Covid-19 infected patients recovered during the last 24 hours ending at 8 am today. The average recovery rate of Covid-19 patients currently stands at 97.87 percent in the division. The 62,762 recovered patients include 14,656 of Rangpur, 4,327 of Panchagarh, 5,377 of Nilphamari, 3,205 of Lalmonirhat, 4,900 of Kurigram, 8,322 of Thakurgaon, 16,535 of Dinajpur and 5,440 of Gaibandha districts in the division.
Since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, a total of 3,41,722 collected samples were tested till Monday, and of them, 64,126 were found positive with an average positivity rate of 18.77 percent in the division.
The total number of casualties also remained steady at 1,283 in the division as no new death was reported during the last 24 hours ending at 8 am today.
The district-wise break up of the 1,283 fatalities stands at 300 in Rangpur, 84 in Panchagarh, 92 in Nilphamari, 74 in Lalmonirhat, 69 in Kurigram, 259 in Thakurgaon, 340 in Dinajpur and 65 in Gaibandha districts of the division.
The average casualty rate currently stands at two percent in the division.
"Among total 64,127 Covid-19 patients, 18 are undergoing treatments, including four patients at ICU and six at High Dependency Unit beds, after recovery of 62,762 patients and 1,283 deaths while 72 are remaining in home isolation," Dr Islam added.
