In Bogura, 109 people, including doctors, journalists and police, have been infected with the coronavirus. The total number of victims in the district stands at 2,516. The information was given at a regular briefing of the district health department on Thursday morning after analyzing the results of 334 samples tested on June 24.
Bogura Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr Mostafizur Rahman Tuhin briefed about the situation online at 11 am. He said the total numbers of infected people in the district stood at 2,517 till June 24, as 109 new cases of corona were detected.
According to the briefing, one person died of corona in the previous 24 hours till June 24. A total of 43 people died in the district. However, at the same time, 9 more people have recovered. As a result, the number of recoveries in corona has increased to 283. So far, a total of 16,016 samples have been collected for corona detection test in Bogura. Of these, 13,984 samples have been tested till June 24.
Bogura District Health Department spokesman Dr Mostafizur Rahman Tuhin said, “334 samples were tested on June 24 from government and private PCR labs in Bogura. Of these, 65 samples tested positive in 188 samples tested in the PCR lab of Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College (SZMC). And in the PCR lab of the private TMSS Medical College, out of 146 samples from Bogra, 44 came positive.
Of the 109 newly infected, 76 are men, 29 are women and the remaining 4 are children. Most of the victims are between the ages of 18 and 40. In addition, 21 people aged 41 to 50, one person aged 51 to 60 years and one from Sariakandi has been newly infected with corona.
