Bangladesh on Wednesday reported 42 more deaths from Covid-19 and 2,744 fresh cases overnight.
During the period of 24 hours till 8am, 1,805 patients were discharged from the hospitals.
With that, the total number of cases surged to 213,254, deaths 2,751 and recoveries 117,202 in Bangladesh.
Additional Director General for Health Prof Nasima Sultana at the daily bulletin said 12,050 samples had been tested at 80 authorised laboratories across the country during the time.
Among the total infections, 54.96 percent patients have recovered while 1.29 percent died so far since the first positive cases were reported in the country on March 8.
Among the 42 deaths, 30 are male and 12 females.
One is in his 20s, three are in their 30s, three their 40s, 11 in their 50s, 14 in their 60s, eight in their 70s, one in his 80s while one between 10 and 20 years.
According to the division-wise data, 21 deaths took place in Dhaka division and eight in Chattogram division and rests are in other divisions.
Of the total deaths in Bangladesh, she said, 1,341 are in Dhaka Division, 696 in Chattogram division, 152 in Rajshahi division, 181 in Khulna division, 102 in Barishal division, 128 in Sylhet division, 93 in Rangpur division and 58 in Mymensingh division.
So far, Bangladesh has tested 10,66,609 samples for Covid-19.
She said there is no shortage of beds in Covid-19 dedicated hospitals at this moment.
Most of the patients are taking treatment from home as the government has introduced round the clock telemedicine services comprising 70 physicians and 20 health workers.

Currently, 59,056 people are quarantined across the country – including 2,429 newly-quarantined individuals. Some 357,876 people have completed their quarantine course.
The authorities placed 824 new individuals suspected of having Covid-19 into isolation, bringing the total to 18,796 after 25,778 left.
