Covid-19 casualties climb to 1,178 in Ctg

The Covid-19 related casualties climbed to 1,178 as eight more infected patients died during the last 24 hours till Sunday morning in Chattogram district. 

Among the reported fatalities, 667 were the residents of the port city and the rest 511 were from different upazilas of the district, said Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, civil surgeon of Chattogram.

Meanwhile, the number of cured patients from the lethal virus infection has reached 65,159 in the district with the recovery of 554 more patients on Saturday, he said, adding that the percentage of recovery rate stands at 67.10. Health officials said the number of Covid-19 cases speedily raised to 97,133 as 298 more persons were reported Covid-19 positive after testing 1972 samples with the daily infection rate of 15.11 percent on Saturday in the district. 

Meanwhile, the number of  coronavirus detection and death cases is decreasing day by day in the city and district.
