A court here on Sunday sent Hallmark Group Chairman Jesmin Islam to jail rejecting her bail petition in a case filed for misappropriating Tk 85 crore 87 lakh 33,616 against a fake LC of Janata Bank.
Earlier in the morning, she surrendered before the Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judges Court of K M Imrul Kayesh.
The lawyer of Anti Corruption Commission opposed the bail petition. After the hearing of both the side, the judge ordered to send her jail rejecting the bail plea.
On June 16, a four-member bench of the Appellate Division headed by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain cancelled the HC order that granted permanent bail to Jasmine in a corruption case and asked her to surrender before the court within four weeks.
