A Dhaka court on Thursday postponed proceedings of 11 cases against BNP chief Khaleda Zia including sedition charges.

Taposh Kumar Pal, an additional public prosecutor confirmed it. The court was scheduled to conduct a hearing regarding the charge sheet in a murder case filed with Jatrabari Police Station and set a date for charge framing in 10 other cases.

However, Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Md Asaduzzaman fixed Nov 13 for the proceedings as Khaleda Zia was unable to appear in court due to illness.

Among the 11 cases, 10 were filed in the first three months of 2015 over arson attacks, while the rest one was filed with a Dhaka court on the charge of making seditious comments on freedom fighters and martyrs of the Liberation War.

Three other corruption cases against Khaleda -- Gatco, Niko and Boropukuria coalmine -- are now pending with three other special courts in Dhaka.

Two more cases are pending with the Second Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's Court.
