A couple was killed and another injured as a truck hit them on the Nilphamari-Saidpur road in Sadar upazila on Sunday.
The deceased were identified as Swapon Rao, 28, a resident of Barodah village under Saidpur upazila of the district and his wife Sumi Rao, 23.
They were employees of Uttara EPZ. Swapon, Sumi and another worker were going to their workplace riding on a motorcycle. Police said the accident occurred at around 7 am as the truck hit a motorcycle in Kazirhat area from behind, leaving the bike riders Swapon and Sumi dead on the spot and injuring another.
