Police recovered the bodies of a husband and wife from their home in Porsha upazila of Naogaon on Wednesday morning.
The incident took place around 9:00 AM at Sheetli Fakirpara village under Nitpur union.
The dead were identified as Hai Babu, 47, and his wife Momena Begum, 35, both residents of Sheetli Fakirpara.
According to local sources and police, the couple had dinner and went to bed as usual with their two young daughters on Tuesday night. In the morning, one of the daughters woke up to find her mother lying motionless on the bed and her father hanging from the ceiling with a rope. The younger daughter alerted the neighbors, who rushed in and found both parents dead. They then informed police.
Porsha Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abu Bakar Siddique said that upon receiving the news, police recovered the bodies and sent those to Naogaon Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
While the exact cause of death will be confirmed after the autopsy report, initial investigations suggest the incident may have been triggered by a domestic dispute, police added.
