A man and his wife have been found dead at a rented house in Cumilla's Daudkandi upazila.
Police recovered the bodies at about 10pm from Mujib Miah's house in Laxmipur village under Gouripur union in the upazila.
The deceased were identified as Aminul Islam, 44, a medicine trader; and Maleka Begum, 36, worked as nurse at Upazila Health Complex.
Nargis Begum, wife of house owner Mujibur Rahman, said six months ago, Aminul and Maleka took a room here and used to live as sublet. They came here every Thursday afternoon and went back on Saturday.
Like other weeks, Aminul and Maleka came here on Thursday afternoon but they did not open the door till evening. When neighbour saw that they did not open the door till evening, they informed police, she added. Receiving information, police members went to the spot and broke open the door and recovered the bodies.
The bodies of the couple sent to Cumilla Medical College Hospital morgue on Saturday morning.
Police suspect that Aminul and Maleka committed suicide taking 'sleeping pills' excessively.
