In the journey to become a developed country and also have a sustainable economy, the government has been advancing towards prepaid smart meters for electricity at homes. Already a number of key areas in a few metro cities have been able to avail the services of such prepaid meters. The objective behind this shift towards prepaid meters was to help improve energy billing process and enable consumers use electricity in line with their budgets.

According to a report published in this daily, state-owned Rural Power Company Limited (RPCL) and a Chinese privately-run company are going to start the prepayment meter production this month. This will enable the local factory to provide a steady supply of prepaid meters for the citizens to avail. Not only this, but also the facility will provide a place for employment for people also. In this testing time, the poisonous  fangs of coronavirus piercing deep into the lives of people, this will be able to alleviate the pressure of unemployment from the lives of some people.

Apart from this, the factory also has key medical facilities and proper quality checking center that will inevitably be able to raise the factory’s efficiency in production and in turn be able to expedite the shift towards digitalization of the country a step further.

About all, we hope that the new factory will be able to facilitate the convenience of consumers and also ease bill payment system with hundred percent bill collection. Also, we believe that with total control over electricity distribution, there will be no theft of electricity in the near future.
