Country sees one Covid death in 24 hrs

Bangladesh registered one more death from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8am Tuesday. The total number of deaths remains at 29,120.

The country recorded 69 new infections in the meantime taking the total number of people infected to 1,951,432, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Tuesday.

In the 24 hours, current positivity rate stands at 0.75 percent. Overall the rate stands at 14.13 percent.

In addition, the death rate now stands at 1.49 percent in the country, added the release.

Experts believe that the relentless vaccination campaigns conducted at regular intervals played a vital role in bringing down the impact of the deadly virus.

According to them, the country has reached a systematic result due to the efforts of all in tackling the deadly virus.

A total of 9,213 samples were tested across the country till 8am Tuesday. 

Some 747 Covid-19 patients have recovered during this period. A total of 1,879,544 people have recovered from the virus so far and the recovery rate stands at 96.32 percent.

As of Tuesday, 6,153,159 people died of Covid-19 across the world and 483,936,694 have been infected so far, according to Worldometer.
