‘Country’s image linked with RMG industry’

The image of the country is associated with the development of the Ready-Made Garment (RMG) Industry, so in the current Covid-19 situation the industrial police will work together with the traders to maintain a peaceful environment in the industry.

The assurance was given by Industrial Police-3 Superintendent of Police Mohammad Sulaiman during a courtesy call on the newly-elected leaders of BGMEA at the conference room of BGMEA regional office in Chattogram’s Khulshi on Monday afternoon.

 He said the industrial police have been formed with the aim of maintaining law and order situation in the industrial sector including resolving labor unrest in the garment sector.

 He assured the continuous cooperation of the industrial police in monitoring and taking necessary measures in the interest of the safety of the industrial area and overall cooperation from the industrial police in maintaining the security of the garment industry.

 Syed Nazrul Islam, first vice-president of BGMEA, lauded the efforts of the industrial police in maintaining law and order in the garment industry in Chittagong.

 Highlighting the context of the Kovid-19 epidemic, he said many were skeptical about whether the industry would survive, but with the courageous and far-sighted decision of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the industry was able to overcome the crisis.

 Although she is currently gaining momentum in coping with the second blow of Corona, she sought the continued cooperation of all concerned to keep the industry afloat and empower the neglected women of the country and the vitality of the economy.

 The speakers mentioned the contribution of the garment industry in the national economy and expressed their determination to work unitedly to protect this industry.

 The meeting was attended by BGMEA Director Tanvir Habib, AM Shafiul Karim (Khokon), M EhsanulHaque and senior officials of Industrial Police and BGMEA.
