Air Chief Marshal Masihuzzaman Serrniabat awarded BAF Colour to 35 Squadron, 205 Maintenance Unit and School of Physical Fitness (SOPF) of BAF for their efficiency in discharging duties at BAF Base Bangabandhu in the capital Dhaka on Wednesday. Air Officer Commanding of BAF Base Bangabandhu Air Vice Marshal M Sayed Hossain received the Air Chief.
During the colour Award Ceremony, Masihuzzaman Serrniabat witnessed a spectacular parade which was led by Wing Commander Md Shafiqul Hassan Khan. He handed over the BAF colour to 35 Squadron, 205 Maintenance Unit and School of Physical Fitness (SOPF) during the parade which was adorned with a flag Bearer Team and BAF Orchestra. After handing over the BAF Colour, he also took part in a special munajat.
While addressing, he respectfully recalled the greatest Bengali of all times, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and all the valiant martyrs of the country during the liberation war whose sacred sacrifice brought independence and sovereignty of Bangladesh.
He mentioned that 35 Squadron, 205 Maintenance Unit and School of Physical Fitness (SOPF) have their own glorious history in BAF. He praised the leading role of 35 Squadron in defending the sky of Bangladesh. He also mentioned about the contribution of 205 Maintenance Unit in repair, maintenance and quality control of all electronics equipment of BAF. Besides, he appreciated the role of School of Physical Fitness in maintaining physical fitness of BAF personnel as well as conducting training for different games and sports.
Masihuzzaman Serrniabat congratulated all members of the squadron and units who received the prestigious BAF Colour and urged them to uphold the honour, dignity and pride of BAF Colour. At the end, he thanked all members of BAF Base Bangabandhu for the colourful parade and gorgeous representation of the Base. Later, he signed Visitor’s Book. Among others, Principle Staff Officers and other members of BAF were present on the occasion.
The Squadron and Units of BAF were awarded with BAF colour as the recognition of their contributions to the implementation of Forces Goal-2030.
