Planning Minister MA Mannan has said, the corrupt people of the country will be identified and brought to the book.
He said, the corruption is not limited in Dhaka only but it is spread to all over the country. A countrywide anti-corruption drive is going on in the country. The Prime Minister has clearly said, there should be no consideration for the corrupt people and they will be brought to the book.
The Planning Minister said this while addressing to a public meeting at Jagannathpur Upazila in Sunamganj on Wednesday.
He said, ‘A vested quarter has been hatching was conspiracies to assassinate Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to establish the rule of looting and plundering in the country.
They do not know, Sheikh Hasina is blessed with the immense love of the people of the country and no one will be able to cause any harm of Shiekh Hasina. In Shah Allah, we will be able to save the country from the grip of these conspirators. As long as our Prime Minister is alive, no looting quarters will be able to raise their heads. The drive against the corrupt bigwigs will be continued. No one will be spared from the grip of law’.
He further mentioned, like other places of the country, the corrupt people of Sunamganj will be identified and brought under the purview of the law.
He said the fame and reputation of the country can not be tarnished by the corrupt people. ‘We shall not act out of the purview of law and everything will be proved through the court’, mentioned the minister.
The Planning Minister was addressing as the chief guest at a function of distribution of deep tube-well among 400 ultra-poor families under Safe Water Supply and Development of Sanitation System Project at Jagannathpur upazila under Sunamganj on Wednesday noon.
Planning Minister further said, the government was working for the improvement of the lot of people of Haor area through building roads, schools and health complexes there. Sheikh Hasina believes in work, not in words. The rural people are being served with the programmes of elderly persons allowance, widow allowance and money, rice, home for the homeless. The sanctions in these sectors will be increased further.
He requested the people to remember those who are working for the development of people of the country.
He added, there will be the further development of the people of Haor areas if Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is in power.
Presided over by MahfuzulAlam Masud, Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Jagannathpur, the meeting was conducted by Abdur Rob Sarker where Sidique Ahmed, Vice-President of district AL spoke as special guest.
Among others, Former Upazila Chairman Akmal Hossain, Additional Superintendent of Police Hayatun Nabi, Vice-Chairman of the upazila Bijon Kumar Denath, Officer-in-charge of Jagannathpur Police Station Ikhtiar Uddin, General Secretary of UZ AL Rezaul Karim Riju, were also present.
