Bangladesh has registered 77 more deaths from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours till 8 am Wednesday, taking the total death toll to 11,305.
The death rate now stands at 1.50 percent in the country, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
This is the lowest daily Covid-19 death toll after 13 April when 69 deaths were reported.
Meanwhile, a total of 2,955 people tested positive for Covid-19, taking the country's total cases of infections to 7,54,614. A further decline in the rate of infection could be noticed. The infection rate stands at 10.48 percent at present.
Another 5,392 people recovered from the illness through treatment at homes and in hospital, bringing the tally of recoveries to 672,319. The recovery rate stands at 89.09 percent.
Among the latest day's victims, 43 were men, and 34 were women. Of them, 76 died in different hospitals across the country while one died at home, added the release.
Of the deceased, 46 hailed from the Dhaka division, nine from Chattogram, seven from Khulna, five each from Rajshahi and Barishal, two each from Sylhet and Mymensingh, and one from Rangpur division.
A total of 28,206 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours (till 8am Wednesday).
As of Wednesday, 3,151,684 people died of Covid-19 across the world and 149,432,866 have been infected so far, according to Worldometer.
