With the number of coronavirus cases rising alarmingly in the country, the facilities for testing are inadequate. This is cause for great concern as without testing it will be impossible to curb the spread of the disease.
Majority of the suspected patients of the deadly disease are struggling to give test samples and are facing long wait for the results. Therefore, these people are not being able to isolate themselves in advance and spreading the disease to their relatives and neighbours.
Huge crowds gather in front of the sample collection centres at health facilities every single day. Official statistics suggest the number of daily sample test for coronavirus in the country has doubled in the last one month against almost six-fold increase in the daily count of confirmed cases.
According to witnesses, a very small percentage of people gathering in the coronavirus test centres or booths every day are being able to give samples. Most of these people have to return home without being able to submit their samples as the number of suspected patients is too high for the centers to cope up with.

The testing facilities that are available to the public are still too inadequate to tackle the growing demand. Experts opine that the testing facilities should reach the doorsteps of the people across the country, or else the situation may soon go beyond control.
Such a scenario will not only result in large number of casualties, but will also cause the healthcare system of the country to collapse. In order to prevent this from happening, the authorities concerned must act quickly to enhance the testing facilities in the country.
The government must acquire the necessary equipment to open more labs across the country and launch speed-training initiatives for technicians. Emphasis should be on both quantity and quality of the testing facilities as faulty results will only prove detrimental to the overall scenario.
