Corona detection, death decreases in Rajshahi

Both the number of deaths in Corona virus and identification of Corona positive patients have decreased at the Corona unit of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital on Thursday. The number of daily admitted patients at the hospital has also decreased during the same period. Thursday was the last day of the week-long lockdown in Rajshahi city.  

Brigadier General Shamim Yazdani, Director of RMCH informed 10 Covid-19 patients died at the Corona unit of the hospital during the last 24 hour ending 8-00 am. Of those seven are males and three are females. With the dead, the total death toll at the hospital stands at 171 during the last 17-day of this month. Of the dead 71 are from Rajshahi and 74 are from Chapainawabganj. 

He said among 358 admitted patients at the Corona unit of the hospital, 199 are from Rajshahi, 98 from Chapainawabganj, 24 each from Natore and Naogaon, four each from Pabna and Kushtia and two from Chuadanga. At the same time 31 patients recovered and left the hospital.  

Meanwhile, the number of identification of Corona positive patients has decreased a bit in Rajshahi during the last 24 hours. On Wednesday, 166 tested positive by testing 400 samples in two PCR labs of RMCH. The rate of infection of Coronavirus was less by 1.94 percent than that of the previous day. On Wednesday the rate of detection of Coronavirus among people was 41.50 percent while on Tuesday the detection rate was 43.44 percent.

Brigadier General Shamim Yazdani added the lockdown is the best way to resist the infection of Coronavirus. He hoped for a good result if the lockdown is enforced and implemented strictly for two weeks more.
