Corona-affected farmers get financial aid

The Ministry of Disaster Management has allocated Tk 46 lakh for distribution among the Corona pandemic affected farmers for baby food, animal feed and Erie-Boro paddy farming.

District Relief and Rehabilitation Officer Md. Mokarram Hossain said a total of Tk 13 lakh has been allocated for each of the 13 upazilas of Kishoreganj district at a cost of Tk 1 lakh for providing baby food to malnourished children during the coronation period. 

The Upazila Nirbahi Officer has been instructed to purchase the baby food and distribute the money as per the list. Besides, Tk 13 lakh has been allocated in each of the 13 upazilas of Kishoreganj for buying food for cattle. This assistance will be provided to the enlisted farmers through the Upazila Nirbahi Officers.

On the other hand, Md. Saiful Alam, Deputy Director of the District Agricultural Extension Department said, Tk 20 lakh has been allocated among marginal farmers affected by the Erie-Boro cultivation this year due to obstruction in pollination.
