A constable of Razarbag police line in Dhaka was arrested in a violation case under Shiddhirganj police station in Narayanganj on Wednesday.
The arrestee was identified as Abdul Kuddus Nayan, 35, son of Siraj Mia, resident of Char Mongol village under Charfashion upazila of Bhola, who served as a constable cum driver at Razarbag police line in the capital.
A mother of two children and divorced woman on Wednesday, October 7 filed a rape case with Shiddhirganj police station accusing Nayan.
Inspector Istiak Asfak Russel of Shiddhirganj police station said, the victim stated in her case statement that she was violated by Nayan at her Shiddhirganj residence on Tuesday, October 6 night. She had an affair with Nayan after being introduced on social media.
After filing the case Shiddhirganj police arrested the accused from his job location on Wednesday and was produced before the judicial magistrate court in Narayanganj on Thursday.
