Coordination programme begins soon to solve waterlogging in Ctg

Meeting between CCC Mayor and CDA Chairman held

A meeting between Mayor of Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) AJM Nasir Uddin and Chairman of Chittagong Development Authority's (CDA) Zahirul Alam Dobash was held at CDA Building in the port city on Thursday.

AJM Nasir Uddin and Zahirul Alam Dobash discussed various issues. With a view to develop the city and protect its interest, the CDA and the CCC will start a coordination programme, said officials of the two bodies after the meeting. 

In the meeting, AJM Nasir Uddin assured the cooperation with CDA in the water logging project. He said, "We have requested to construct an elevated expressway from Barik Building to Lalkhanbazar. If it happens, the natural beauty of Tigerpass will be saved. Besides, a box culvert will be built on the Agrabad-Chowmuhani road.”

CDA Chairman Dobash said, the City Mayor came to the CDA office to make a courtesy call. A discussion was held over water logging project. Mayor assured all types of cooperation.”

“Our main objective is to get rid of the water logging problem. CDA Chairman thanked Mayor Nasir including CCC councilors for their cooperation in the water logging project”, he added.

The duo organizations will work together on the city's Mariam Bibi Canal, Mahesh khal, the junction bridge, Shamsher Para Hajir Pool and other parts to resolve water logging problem, the press release said.

Among others CDA chief engineer Kazi Hasan Bin Shams, board member and ward councilor Gias Uddin, Hasan Murad Biplob, board member Jasim Uddin Shah, corporation councilor Tarek Solaiman Selim, Chief Engineer Lieutenant Colonel Mohiuddin Ahmed, chief executive officer Samsudoha were present there.
