Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi said that consumers also need to be aware of their rights. All People are consumers, a businessman is also a consumer. We all have to work to protect the rights of a consumer. The government has enacted laws to protect consumer rights. The law is being strictly enforced. Enforcing law against irregularities is easier when the consumer is aware. To ensure the rights of consumers, the National Department of Consumer Protection has launched a hotline service called 'Consumer Window'. If any consumer's rights are violated, the remedy can be obtained by calling 16121. If the allegation is proved to encourage the consumer, the consumer will get 25 percent of the fine immediately. Everyone needs to know consumer rights law. Everyone must come forward to establish consumer rights. The scope of work of the Department of National Consumer Protection has been greatly enhanced. Work is being done at district, upazila and union level. Protecting consumer rights will be easier if we work together.

The Commerce Minister made this assertion while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion meeting of 'World Consumer Rights Day-2022' organized by the National Consumer Rights Protection Department at Osmani Memorial Auditorium in Dhaka on Tuesday. This time, the theme of the day is 'Fairness in Digital Financial System'.

Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi said, "We fought and liberated the country at the call of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman." The benefits of an independent country must be ensured for all. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working day and night to fulfil Bangabandhu's dream. The people of the country are now enjoying digital benefits. Everyone should be aware of the fact that no one can take unethical advantage of that digital facility. Everyone should be aware of the fact that the prices of some products have gone up in the international market so that no one can take advantage of the opportunity unethically. The government is working with the field administration.”
