Consumer rights authorities fine 16 shops

The National Consumer Rights Protection (CRP) directorate fined a total Tk 1.28 lakh to 16 shops in separate drives conducted in Dhaka, Khulna, Narail, Cox’s Bazar and Moulvibazar.

Of the shops, two were fined a total of Tk 70,000 in city’s Gulshan and Sutrapur areas, reports BSS.

Eleven business establishments were fined Taka 26,000 for selling adulterated food and violating rules regarding manufacturing, packaging and weights of products.

Besides, three shops were fined Taka 32,000 for selling foods in higher price following the written complaints made by consumers.
