Construction works on mega projects like elevated expressway and metro-rail are progressing to ease pressure on city public transports. The construction companies authorized to construct the massive structures in the middle of the busy roads have taken maximum precautions to minimize disruption of traffic movement. The extra care before the Eid festival have been well reflected in their disciplinary works as they carry on heavy duty works on the busy thoroughfares like on Shahabagh - Farmgate street near Banglamotor on Thursday.
The Dhaka Elevated Expressway extends from Shahjalal International Airport - Kuril - Banani - Mohakhali - Tejgaon - Maghbazar - Kamalapur - Saidabad - Jatrabari to Dhaka-Chittagong Highway (Kutubkhali) while the Mass-Rapid Transport (MRT) will construct six metro-rail lines in Dhaka and its adjacent areas by 2030.
